Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC)

Children’s National Medical Center is the only health care provider specifically for children in the Washington DC area and has a long 140 years of experience diagnosing and treating pediatric illness¹. The hospital treats around 300,000 patients per year from all around the country and the globe. As a teaching hospital, CNMC also helps educate future doctors and specialists in pediatric medicine. 

Georgetown residents obtain their required three months of pediatric neurology training at Children’s National Medical Center. CNMC has a excellent Neurology department with more than 30 pediatric neurologist. The department was recently ranked #4 in the country by U.S. News & World Report².CNMC Neurology sees about 2,500 patients every year inpatient and also a large number of patients through outpatient services². The Georgetown residents rotate on the inpatient ward, PICU, NICU, and outpatient clinic. With multiple Pediatric Neurology Fellows each year and such talented attendings, residents will experience excellent education in Pediatric Neurology through their time here.
