Rotation Schedules

PGY-1 year

At least one year of training in an ACGME accredited PGY-1 internship year is required before entering the Georgetown Neurology Residency Program. Candidates typically arrange their first post-graduate year on their own.

PGY-2 year (1st year neurology)

• Georgetown Neurology Ward Service: 2–3 months
• VA Neurology Ward Service: 2–3 months
• Georgetown Outpatient Clinic: 2 weeks
• Washington Hospital Center Neurology Consult Service: 2 months
• Georgetown Neurology Night Float: 4 weeks (divided into 2-week blocks)

PGY-3 year (2nd year neurology)

• Georgetown Neurology Consult Service: 2–3 months
• Pediatric Neurology (Children's National Medical Center): 1 month
• Georgetown Neurology Night Float: 2 weeks
• VA Neurology Consult Service: 3–4 months
• Washington Hospital Center Neurology Consult Service: 1 month
• Elective: 2–3 months

PGY-4 year (3rd year neurology)

• Georgetown Neurology Chief Resident: 1–2 months
• VA Neurology Chief Resident: 1–2 months
• Pediatric Neurology (Children's National Medical Center): 2 months
• Georgetown Psychiatry: 1 month
• AFIP Neuropathology: 1 week
• Elective time (clinic, research, consults): 4–5 months
